Obituary: John P. Lenahan

Mass of Christian Burial for John Patrick Lenahan, 90, Eudora, was held Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora. Burial was in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Eudora.

Mr. Lenahan died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at the Eudora Nursing Center. He was born April 25, 1914, in Tonganoxie, the son of Patrick and Mabel McCaffrey Lenahan.

Mr. Lenahan was a postmaster in Eudora and retired in 1977. He also worked at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant in De Soto for 16 years. He married Mary Louise Elston on March 29, 1937, in Tonganoxie. She died in 1987.

Survivors include a son, David Lenahan, Houston; three sisters, Mary Alice Stubbs and Margaret Lenahan, both of Tonganoxie, and Patricia Powell, Clinton, Mo.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Eudora Nursing Center, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora 66025.
