Ticket outlets to be available for Community Day at the K
Anyone interested in purchasing tickets for Community Day at the K on April 19 at Kauffman Stadium has a few options for ticket outlets.
Tickets for the game, which is between Kansas City and Cleveland, are being sold by Basehor-Linwood and Tonganoxie high school baseball players. The two high school teams will play at Kauffman Stadium after the Royals game, which is scheduled to start at 1:10 p.m.
Tickets also are available in Basehor at Sunflower Broadband, 15510 State Avenue, and will be available in Tonganoxie at The Mirror newspaper office, 520 E. Fourth, and the recreation commission office, 221 East Highway 24-40. Tickets also are being sold at Tonganoxie’s First State Bank and Trust locations at 400 Bury St. and 1525 U.S. Highway 24-40.
THS athletics director Brandon Parker said Monday that tickets should be available at the Tonganoxie locations soon. THS baseball players turned in remaining tickets on Tuesday they had not sold. Those tickets then would be available at the three locations.
Each school must sell 1,000 tickets to the major-league baseball game. If tickets are not sold, districts will be responsible for remaining tickets. Game tickets are $10 each with $2 of each ticket going to the high school teams.
Ticket sales for Community Day at the K have climbed by a few dockets since last week at Basehor-Linwood.
BLHS baseball coach David Svboda said Monday that his players and managers had sold 245 tickets. Last week, the team’s total was about 200 for the Royals game.
At Tonganoxie, ticket sales will be known later this week after baseball players turn in their remaining tickets.
Parker is hoping Tonganoxie businesses will join residents in purchasing tickets to the major-league game.
Thus far, Sunflower Broadband has requested to purchase 15 tickets each from Tonganoxie and Basehor-Linwood.
