Obituary: Glen Dunn Cooper
Services for Glen Dunn Cooper, 72, Blackwell, Okla., were Friday, March 25, 2005, at the First Free Will Baptist Church, Blackwell, Okla., with the Rev. Kevin Bookout officiating. Burial was in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Mr. Cooper died on Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the Blackwell Regional Hospital, Blackwell, Okla. He was born on Dec. 15, 1932, in Scammon, Kan. the son of John William and Agnes Christine (Devlin) Cooper. He attended Scammon Elementary School and West Mineral High School. He worked for Cities Service Gas Company in Columbus, Kan. While working for Cities Service he lived in Kansas, Missouri, Texas and Oklahoma. After 42 years of service he retired in 1992 as regional manager for Williams Natural Gas Company. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Elk’s Lodge.
On July 14, 1951, he married Dorothy Irene Guy in Columbus. She died on March 27, 1987. On Oct. 5, 1990, he married Lola Mae Steelmon in Blackwell, Okla. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, Danny Cooper, Drumright, Okla., Randy Cooper, Enid, Okla., and Jay Cooper, Alva, Okla.; two daughters, Glenda Trieb, Tonganoxie, and Sandy Hammers, Midwest City, Okla.; a stepson, Greg Balthus, Blackwell, Okla.; and a step-daughter, Tamera Jenkins, Ponca City, Okla.; a sister, Jane Fiechtl, Scammon; a brother, Tom Cooper, Scammon; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
