The boys team took fourth place at the meet with 120 points. KC Christian won the meet with 55, while Blue Valley placed second (86) and Olathe North third (115) out of 10 teams.

Matt Brock placed 12th out of 73 runners with a time of 17 minutes 41 seconds. Colin Perkins wasn’t far behind in 16th place with a time of 17:52. Colt Coffin also finished in the top 30. Coffin placed 27th with an 18:26 time.

John Davis, three seconds behind Coffin, finished 37th. Justin Smith and Michael Shaw finished 40th and 48th respectively with times of 18:50 and 19:10.

In the girls meet, Tonganoxie placed sixth out of 10 runners. The Chieftains, with 157 points, finished just behind Kansas City Christian, which scored 154. Blue Valley West won the meet with a 42. Blue Valley, Mill Valley, and Olathe Northwest also finished ahead of Tonganoxie.

Christy Weller finished in the top 10 for Tonganoxie. She finished with a 12:45 time, good for eighth place out of 73 runners.

Jennifer Wagner finished in the No. 20 spot. She finished with a 13:28 time. Megan Holton was Tonganoxie’s third runner, finishing in 13:52 for 32nd. Kelley Stauch led a tight pack of Chieftains. Stauch placed 48th with a 14:25 time, while Kaitlyn Saathoff was 49th at 14:32. Laurie Chenoweth finished with the same time, but finished in 50th. Katie Chenoweth placed 51st in 14:33.

On Thursday, Tonganoxie will head to the Wyandotte County State Park for the Kaw Valley League meet, hosted by Basehor-Linwood. The park is at 126th and State Avenue, west of Kansas Speedway. The meet will start at 4 p.m.
