Tonganoxie man arrested in alleged sexual assault
A Tonganoxie man in his early 20s turned himself in to Tonganoxie police Friday after a Tonganoxie woman, also in her early 20s, reported that he sexually assaulted her.
The woman filed a report with Tonganoxie police late last Tuesday.
When the man turned himself over to Tonganoxie police, they arrested him on a sexual-assault charge and transported him to the Leavenworth County Jail. Billy Adcox of the Tonganoxie police department said Sunday that, as of Saturday, the man still was being held at the jail. No court charges have been filed in the alleged incident.
The Mirror generally does not name suspects in sex crimes unless there is a conviction in the case.
