Tonganoxie scored 73 for first, while Monticello placed second with 67. Perry came in third with 28, and Basehor-Linwood scored 26 for fourth.

Dominque Grizzle set a new school record in the discus with a throw of 87-feet even. TJHS swept the top three places in the event as Tiffany Jacobs placed second (75-11 1/8) and Katelyn Colgrove third (61-0 3/8).

Grizzle also placed first in the shot put with a 32-5 throw, while Jacobs placed second at 31-9. Danielle Miller finished fifth with a throw of 26-2 3/4. Other first-place finishers were the 4×400 relay team, the 4×200 team, Christina Rubio in the 200, Kelsey Wagner in the 1,600 meters and Dannie Oelschlaeger in the 75 meter hurdles.

In the eighth-grade division, the Warriors placed second with 57 points. Monticello, a middle school in the De Soto district, placed first with 74, while Basehor-Linwood was third with 46 and Perry fourth with 26.

Tonganoxie had six gold-medal winners in eighth grade. Abby Eisman won the 75-meter hurdles in 13.55 seconds, while Emily Garrison won the 1,600 meters in 6 minutes, 31.8 seconds. Andie Jeannin finished first in the 800 (2:43), Morgan Lacy in the shot put (33-11 1/4) and Angela Jacobs in the discus (75-0). The 4×400 relay team also earned a gold medal with a 4:53 time.

The team’s next meet will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Tonganoxie.
