Hamm is in the lone Chieftain still in the championship bracket. He was in the championship semifinals heading into Saturday’s final competition.

Tonganoxie’s Wyatt Coffin, Travis Adcox, Ryan Stockman, Jeff Frank and Shaun Roberts hope to advance to state through the consolation bracket.

After one day of competition, Tonganoxie was in 12th place out of 15 teams with 26.5 points. Baldwin and Prairie View were tied for first with 75.

The top four wrestlers in each division will advance to state next Friday and Saturday in Salina.
