Girls rally against Basehor-Linwood, but Baska suffers injury

Tongaonxie erased an eight-point halftime lead and outscored Basehor-Linwood, 11-0, in the third quarter Friday on its way to a 52-37 win.

Unfortunately for the Chieftains, sophomore Elizabeth Baska suffered a knee injury during the game. Her status for Monday’s first-round substate game against Piper is unknown.

Ali Pistora scored 14 and Rachel Bogard had 12 for the Chieftains who won a second consecutive Kaw Valley League title with an undefeated conference record.

The Chieftains finished the regular season at 19-1.
