Big T Legion team drops first game at zone tournament
The Big T American Legion baseball team held an early 4-0 lead against the Blue Valley Huskies in a zone tournament Tuesday in Lawrence.
But the Huskies roared back, and with the help of some Tonganoxie errors, Blue Valley advanced in the double-elimination tournament with a 13-8 win against Tonganoxie at the Free State High School baseball field.
Tonganoxie will play the Leavenworth Legends in the losers bracket at 5:30 p.m. today.
Big T now is 14-12 entering the game against the Legends, who fell to the Lansing Cubs in the first round. The Cubs had never beaten the previously once-beaten Legends during the regular season.
