Each celebrity appearance will highlight a component of The Legends: entertainment, style and dining.

Here’s a preview of who’s participating and what’s happening:

Legendary Entertainment Weekend kicks off the grand opening celebration with Kansas City’s famous Marching Cobras; a free concert featuring Grammy-award winning band The Counting Crows and a fireworks grand finale.

The Legendary Style Weekend, April 29-30, will feature Robert Verdi, host of the weekly prime-time series “Fashion Police” and Charles Burbridge, star of HGTV’s “Design on a Dime.” Verdi will answer questions and sign autographs on April 29, and Burbridge on April 30.

The weekend will feature a series of style and home decor showcases and mini-seminars every 30 minutes. There will be opportunities to win makeovers, shopping sprees and private consultations with Verdi and Burbridge.

The Legendary Tastes Weekend, May 5-7, begins Friday night with Salsa in the Streets, a celebration of music, food and dancers. On Saturday, “The Bachelor” star Andrew Firestone of Firestone Family Estates winery, will speak on food and wine pairing. Both Saturday and Sunday, The Legends’ restaurants will provide tastings of signature menu items in a Taste of Legends throughout the center.
In addition to these weekend-specific activities, The Legends will host a variety of events available to visitors throughout the three-week celebration.

During the grand opening the Kids’ Zone will feature children’s offerings with free crafts, games, musical performances, local sports celebrity and mascot appearances.

Live music will be featured in courtyards throughout the center every evening April 22 through May 7 spotlighting some of Kansas City’s most popular musicians.
