The Bulldog softball team blanked Silver Lake, 1-0, Tuesday in Oskaloosa, repaying the Eagles after Silver Lake last year defeated MHS in the regional finals. Silver Lake went on to win the Class 3A state title.

For McLouth, it was a milestone vitory — the Bulldogs’ first state berth after so many regional runner-up trophies — against a team that has made numerous trips to the state tournament.

McLouth will begin state tournament play May 26 at Twin Oaks Complex in Manhattan.
