Tonganoxie, the No. 3 seed, fell to No. 6 Augusta, 7-4 in Salina. THS had an early 3-0 lead, but Augusta tied the game in the top of the second. And then, in the top of the sixth, the Orioles scored four more, in large part to THS errors. Tonganoxie scored again in the seventh, but fell short. The Chieftains ended the season at 20-4.

McLouth, the No. 6 seed in 3A, fell to Herington/White City, 1-0, in Manhattan. The Bulldogs finished their season at 15-5.

Both teams made their first state appearances this season.
