New brochures showcase district
Visitors to the Tonganoxie School District’s central office should take note of a new color brochure promoting the school district.
“(The brochure) is very colorful,” Superintendent Richard Erickson said. “It provides information that I think is helpful to parents and patrons in the school district.”
Erickson joined forces with Steve Woolf, who ends his tenure this month as Tonganoxie Middle School principal, to create a brochure for the Tonganoxie school district. Woolf, a doctoral student at Kansas University, developed the brochures for a doctoral project at KU.
Woolf enlisted the expertise of Jim Moody, the district’s former technology technician, for the project.
“He is an amazing man. I had some ideas, but without him I couldn’t do it,” Woolf said. “We wanted to make something that talks about the good things.”
Erickson said the brochure showcases the district.
“I think it is great,” Erickson said. “We definitely want to promote our school district in a positive light. I think this brochure does this.”
A limited supply of 3,000 brochures was printed for $766.85 and taken from the school district’s general budget. The brochures are available at the central office.
Woolf said the district would like to make the brochures available to people visiting the community, teachers, administrators, and people looking at real estate.
Eventually school officials would like them to be available at public gatherings.
