American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 393 will sponsor Sarah Woodhead as its delegate to the 65th annual Kansas Sunflower Girls State, which will be conducted on the Kansas University campus in June.
“Hats off to Mom” is the theme of the Mother and Daughter Luncheon Banquet at Countryside Baptist Church (10328 Wellman Road) to be 1 p.m. May 5.
Women are asked to make their own hats. Prizes will be awarded for the prettiest, ugliest and most creative hats. Please bring a salad or dessert.
The annual McLouth-area Rural School Reunion (formerly the Eureka and Wildhorse Reunion) will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Everyone who attended any of our local one-room schoolhouses is encouraged to attend and reminisce. People are urged to bring their family, as well as a covered dish and table service. “Parents As Teachers Playgroups” meet at the McLouth Community Center/Library. This month’s schedule features “Nursery Rhyme Time” from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, May 7, and Thursday, May 17, and 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 22.

Enjoy McLouth School’s Choir Concert, featuring sixth- through 12th-grade students, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, in the auditorium.
A Community “Scrapbooking” Fellowship will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, in the basement of McLouth First Baptist Church. Beginners and seasoned scrapbookers are welcome. Bring your photos and share your ideas. Childcare is available. Regular meetings will be the second Tuesday and the last Thursday evenings of every month (weather permitting). Questions? McLouth’s Parent Teacher Organization will sponsor “Grandparents Day” on Thursday, May 10.
Grandparents of elementary students (kindergarten through fifth grade) are invited to come to the school and have lunch with their grandchildren. Please call the school for the specific lunch times: (913) 796-6152.
McLouth’s Parent Teacher Organization will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 10, in the McLouth High School home economics room. Baby-sitting is provided.
“All New Playground Equipment” is the goal of McLouth’s Parent Teacher Organization.

American Legion Auxiliary No. 393 will sponsor its annual bake sale and luncheon at the Community Center, on Saturday, May 12. The bake sale will begin at 9 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Proceeds from their fundraisers remain in the McLouth community, distributed to scholarships and Girls State delegates.
McLouth High School Alumni Banquet will be in theurple (North) Gym on at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12. All graduating seniors, alumni and faculty (past and present) are welcome. Tickets: $8 per couple; $5 single, for all classes except 2007 graduating class. Please bring a covered dish to share.
