With 8 of 13 precincts reporting, John Flower is the early leader in the crowded 3rd District Leavenworth County Commission Republican primary.

Flower has 378 votes, nearly twice as many as his closest challenger, Bev Oroke, who had 209. Rounding out the field are Dave Taylor, 161; Tony Klamm, 121; Francis Hurla, 86; William “Bill”Merkel, 73; and Marvin Torneden, 35.

In the County Attorney’s race, with 43 of 48 precincts reporting, Todd Thompson was leading Deb Snider, 2,405 votes to 1,416 votes.
