By Billie Aye - | Jan 16, 2008

Kayla Oelschlaeger accompanied Alice Purvis, Jonathan and Michael and Edith Purvis to Great Lakes Naval Training Station near Chicago for the graduation of Larry Purvis. Jarbalo United Methodist Women met Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the church. President Marilyn Oxley opened the meeting, and Pastor Larry Grove gave a prayer. Roll call was answered by seven members, and 26 care calls were reported. Program booklets were filled out for 2008. Marilyn Oxley presented the program. She read an article: “What is Globalization to Me?” She was also hostess and served cream puffs she had made and soda. Those attending were Bid Sheppard, Rosie Oelschlaeger, Frances Jeannin, Marilyn Oxley, Faye Cleavinger, Thamar Barnett and Pastor Grove.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, Feb. 13, with Rosie Oelschlaeger as hostess and program leader. The pancake supper will be discussed.

Cleaning supplies such as Endust, toilet-bowl cleaner, dish-washing soap, cleansing powder, vinegar, liquid hand soap, and paper products, such as toilet paper, paper towels and cups for coffee and other drinks are needed. The group will be selling Love Ribbons on UMW Sunday, which will be Feb. 10.

Kevin Butler was a dinner guest of David and Jane Turner Sunday evening.

Jeff and Lenora Dickinson took Bid Sheppard out to eat Monday evening at Kelly’s.
