New businesses open

By Staff | Apr 29, 2009

A couple new businesses have opened up in downtown Tonganoxie.

Jack Cronemeyer has taken over his building formerly known as Bitler’s restaurant and has opened another restaurant, West End Café.

The restaurant opened April 20 and is open 6 a.m.-1 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. seven days a week.

On Thursdays, the restaurant also will feature Mexican food in the evening. On Fridays, Italian food will be served and steaks will be on Saturday’s menu.

Cronemeyer returns to the restaurant business, as he operated Badd Jack’s Southwest restaurant a few years ago at the same location, 416 E. Fourth St.

Down the street, Merge, a new health store, opened its doors Monday at 612 E. Fourth St. Owner is Amy Aaron.

A grand opening will be held 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Various specials will be offered in conjunction with the open house.
