Amy Jo Schwinn enjoyed her 23rd birthday July 29, and has begun her teaching position at Fort Leavenworth.

Peggy Gillaspie and Evelyn Schwinn went to Arkansas on July 23 to watch six of Evelyn’s great-grandchildren perform their swimming abilities.

Herbert and Genevieve and Evelyn Schwinn attended the wedding reception of a neighbor, Nathan Lane, to Madeline Canduff on July 24 at Presbyterian Church in Gardner. The reception was at the Ball Conference Center in Olathe.

Tom Stolte recently visited Bill Sass, who turned 101 in June. He lives in Winchester and many years ago was a Springdale resident.

Evelyn Schwinn and Peggy Gillaspie, Amber and Reilly enjoyed lunch on July 27 at Pullman Place Family Restaurant in Leavenworth. They were joined by Mary Barbara Allen, Susie Lane, Carolyn Thomas and Gladys Lane, all from Gardner.

Kyle Schwinn, son of Bill and Brenda Schwinn, celebrated his 15th birthday July 26.

John and Cora Moses traveled to Eminence, Mo., to visit relatives. They left on July 14 and attended the Nichols Underwood reunion on July 18 at the Mason Lodge there. About 100 relatives attended. The couple returned home on July 21.

Kirk Knapp had supper with his parents July 28.

David and Bev Sparks traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah to visit Bev’s parents and other relatives. They left July 10 and returned home July 20.

Wayne and Anabel Knapp attended the United Methodist Church ice cream social July 26. They had homemade ice cream, cake and pie.

John and Cora Moses and Wayne and Anabel Knapp attended the Farm Bureau supper July 23 at the Heritage Center. There was a very large crowd and wonderful meal and program. The tables were all decorated so pretty.

Myron and Jody Schwinn of St. George came to Danny and Linda Schwinn’s home July 18 for lunch. Evelyn Schwinn joined as well. They took nine ears of sweet corn home with them.
