Chrissie Jeannin follow through on a three-point attempt Saturday afternoon during Tonganoxie's 54-39 victory in the third-place game of the Tonganoxie Invitational.

The Chieftains didn’t get on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter until Roni Grizzle scored a layup with 36 seconds to go but still found a way to win the third-place game at the Tonganoxie Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Tonganoxie (7-3) nursed a seven-point lead heading into the fourth quarter when turnovers made field goals hard to come by. Grizzle, who led all scorers with 20, gave Tonganoxie the lead for good but it became more comfortable when, with 10 seconds remaining, freshman backup guard Haley Smith went to the line for one-and-one. Smith calmly drained both attempts from the charity stripe, forcing Silver Lake to hoist a three that missed before the buzzer.

The Chieftains travel to De Soto on Tuesday.
