Evelyn Schwinn enjoyed dinner on July 5 at the Roy Cole home.

Ed, Peggy and Drew Gillaspie, along with a number of others from the Pleasant Ridge School, traveled to Pensacola, Fla., to attend a wedding. The Gillaspies did a lot of sightseeing on the way home.

The final plans are being made for the ice cream, pie and cake social, which will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Springdale Friends Church.

Wayne and Anabel Knapp attended the fireworks show at McLouth on July 4. There was a nice crowd and it was a very good display.

Springdale Friends Church, along with the Nazarene, Baptist, Stanwood and United Methodist churches, is having a potluck supper at the Nazarene Church on Sunday at 6 p.m. All churches are invited. A program will follow. Let’s have a good turnout. It’s always nice to get together and see each other.

Tom and Kathy Powell celebrated their son’s birthday — Tom and David were born on the same date, July 4. They had a supper with Tom’s side of the family, his brother and friends attending. Later in the evening, they also had fireworks.
