Q: When did you move to Tonganoxie, and what brought you here?
A: I moved to Tonganoxie in 1986 when I married Art Miller
Q: What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?
A: Moving to a small town with a new husband and a new job in the middle of my secure life in the city. It paid off.
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
A: The best piece of advice came from my father, Bud Gleaves, who told me that an education was something no one could take away from me. I am the only college graduate in my immediate family.
Q: What three things would you want people to know about you?
A: I love scrap booking; I was named after a schoolteacher who lived with us for a semester on our farm in Iowa; I have a handsome brother and two sweet sisters whom I?love to travel with.
Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?
A: I have always loved children and I always wanted to be in a helping vocation, so for me that was teaching.
Q: What’s your ideal vacation spot?
A: Going to the lake. It’s so calming and quiet.
