The Springdale community wants to extend its sympathy to the David Foster family in the death of David. He passed away Saturday, Nov. 7 at his home. He was an original founder of the Alexandria Township Fire Department, serving as captain of the fire department and president of the Alexandria Fire Association. He also was president of the Fall Creek Cemetery Board, previous leader of 4-H and Junior Grange and coach of junior league softball and baseball. His funeral service was Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the Davis Funeral Chapel. Burial was at Fall Creek Cemetery. He served 10 years in the U.S. Navy from 1972-82.
Visiting Evelyn Schwinn on Nov. 5 were Peggy and Ed Gillaspie, Amber and Riley Gillaspie.
Sunday, Nov. 8 was a great day for Lloyd and Margaret Smelser as they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Springdale Friends Church. Beginning at the morning service, there was special music. Following the worship service, a carry-in dinner was served, then a reception with cake and punch from 1:30-4:30 p.m. A large crowd of friends, relatives and church families helped them celebrate. We all wish them more happy years.
Wayne and Anabel Knapp attended David Foster’s funeral on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth.
Anabel Knapp was a visitor of Gertrude Chrisman on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 10.
