People of the neighborhood were saddened by the death of Gladys Steffen on Jan. 26. Our sympathy goes to her family. A number of people from the area attended the funeral Friday at Tonganoxie Christian Church. The Rev. Dirk Scates officiated. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens near Leavenworth.
On Jan. 27, David and Jane Turner attended the celebration of Sheldon Mills’ 18th birthday. His parents and sister, David Jr. and Tracey Turner and Sydney, played host to the party in their Lake Dabinawa home.
Jarbalo United Methodist Women will meet Wednesday, Feb. 10 at the church. Marilyn Oxley will be hostess and program leader. There will be a Valentine shower for the church with members bringing cleaning and paper supplies. Sunday, Feb. 14 will be UMW Sunday at the church service and they will have love ribbons for sale.
Dale and Joan Dunlap and grandson, Bradon, visited Bid Sheppard on Sunday.
