Authorities continue search for missing Tonganoxie man

By Staff | Jun 22, 2010

Local law enforcement officials continue their search for a Tonganoxie man whose family hasn’t seen him since May 26.

Tonganoxie police, with assistance from the Jackson County Sheriff’s office in Missouri, are investigating a missing person case involving Luke Stevens, 23, Tonganoxie. Stevens last was seen at his Tonganoxie home May 26. A week later, on June 2, his 1983 dark blue Chevrolet truck was found at Longview Lake near south Kansas City, Mo., in Jackson County.

Tonganoxie police Lt. Billy Adcox said he’s not received any phone calls about the Stevens’ disappearance. Stevens’ mother, Joyce Stevens, in a Lawrence Journal-World blog, asked for help in finding her son. Some people then posted Luke’s information on their Facebook pages. Adcox said police have been monitoring Web pages as well, but have not had any leads.

“We’re still investigating,” Adcox said. “There’s nothing new at all.”

A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information that leads to Luke Stevens’ whereabouts. He is 6-5 and weighs about 250 pounds. Anyone with information should contact Tonganoxie police at (913) 845-2311.
