Gary and Linda Blanton of Troy visited Orville and Rosie Oelschlaeger during the weekend. Sunday afternoon Valerie Blanton and a friend from Lawrence visited them. Rosie wants to thank everyone who came to their basement sale Friday and Saturday.

Several people from the area attended the funeral of James Edmonds on Saturday at the Tonganoxie Christian Church. Burial was at Fall Creek Cemetery. My sympathy goes to the family. Jim and I grew up on farms close to each other southeast of Springdale.

For those of you in the area who have watched the fireworks display at Kelly’s south of town from your homes, be looking for the display starting at about 9:15 p.m. Friday.
