Kansas University honored student-athletes named to the Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for 2009 during halftime of the KU-Baylor University men’s basketball game Jan. 20 in Allen Fieldhouse.

KU men’s cross country runner Levi Huseman, son of Brian and Terri Huseman, Tonganoxie, was among those honored.

“These student-athletes show remarkable determination,” Athletics Director Lew Perkins said in a press release. “It takes a special person to match athletic intensity with determination in the classroom. These grades are a credit to them, their professors and to our outstanding student-athlete support staff. We’re very proud of all of them.”

Student-athletes who achieved a grade-point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and were enrolled during the spring or fall 2009 semesters are eligible for the honor. During the spring semester, 218 qualified. In the fall, 275 qualified.
