Jarbalo Jottings

By Staff | Mar 30, 2010

There will be a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. Thursday at Jarbalo United Methodist Church.

There will be a sunrise service on the lawn of the church, weather permitting, Easter morning at 7 a.m. If the weather is bad the service will be inside. There will be a breakfast following the service. Regular Sunday service will be at 10:30 a.m.

Dates have been set for the spring rummage and bake sale at Jarbalo United Methodist Church. They are Friday, April 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 17 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. These dates correspond with Edie Mongold’s garage sale. Maybe others in the area would like to have a sale that day, too.

Kathy Stimac attended the wedding ceremony of Julie Lynch and Chase Smock Saturday afternoon at the Riverfront Community Center in Leavenworth. A reception and dance followed the ceremony.

Eric Barnett visited Thamar Barnett Sunday afternoon.

The Jaunty Jarbolonians chapter of the Red Hat Society went to the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Lawrence Saturday morning, March 27, to a flower and garden fair. The group then went to Panera Bread for lunch. Those who went were Betty Clark, Linda Berry, Lynn Paul, Jane Turner and Thamar Barnett. Betty, Thamar and Jane stopped at Quilting Bits and Pieces in Eudora on the way home.

We want to congratulate our local (Jarbalo) man, Rhett Clark, for being honored for four years of being manager of the Kansas State University basketball team. This was at the pregame ceremony for Senior Day before the KSU-Iowa State game March 6. Rhett is the son of Phil and Betty Clark.
