THS baseball opens regional at JWHS

By Mirror Staff Reports - | May 13, 2010

After three Tonganoxie High baseball games were washed out this week, the team’s next date will come in the postseason.

The Chieftains will head to Meriden on Monday for a 4:30 p.m. showdown with Jeff West in the first round of a Class 4A regional.

THS (4-12) got the region’s No. 7 seed, meaning it has to play at JWHS — a place where Tonganoxie lost 19-9 back on April 6.

The Tigers (12-3) are the No. 2 seed in the region.

Other first-round games will be played at three other sites Monday and the semifinals and finals are scheduled for Wednesday at Washburn University’s Falley Field, in Topeka.

Topeka-Hayden is the regional host.
