Rachford, Daldorph win Tonganoxie Days library races

As is tradition, Tonganoxie Days began Saturday morning with the annual Tonganoxie Library Run, featuring both 10K and 5K routes.

The 2011 5K winner was last year’s 10K champ at the run. Patrick Rachford, a 17-year-old Tonganoxie High cross country and track runner, crossed the finish line in 18:55. The top female runner in the 5K was Meagan Ballock, 23, who finished in 21:09.

The 10K race had a father and daughter finish first and second. Brian Daldorph, 53, took first place when he finished the course in 42:28 and his 19-year-old daughter, Lucy, was just one second behind him.
