Ashlee Lohman graduated from Kansas State University on Saturday with a bachelor’s degree in life science. Her parents, Craig and Carol Lohman of rural Tonganoxie, had an open house that evening for family and friends.

John and Janice Oelschlaeger, and Erin and Amy, of Lawrence visited Orville and Rosie Oelschlaeger on Mother’s Day and brought pizza for dinner.

Saturday, Orville and Rosie Oelschlaeger visited Gary and Linda Blanton of rural Troy. They had dinner at Dairy Queen in Atchison.

Tim and Kelly Kouns were guests of David and Jane Turner on Saturday evening.

Jarbalo United Methodist Women met Wednesday, May 11, at the church. President Marilyn Oxley opened with a prayer. Four members answered roll call and reported 40 care calls.

An announcement was read from Easton United Methodist Women about their fried chicken dinner May 21.

Old business was the planning for a tea at the church: 2 p.m. June 24.

New business was discussing going to Hickory Pointe Nursing Home in July for a birthday celebration.

Frances Jeannin read “A Matter of Faith” for the program. She was also hostess and served refreshments.

Those there were Marilyn Oxley, Frances Jeannin, Rosie Oelschlaeger and Thamar Barnett.
