Led by senior Patrick Rachford’s sixth-place finish in the Rim Rock Classic Blue 5K race, the Chieftains finished seventh in the team standings.

Rachford completed the course in 17:06.37 and each of his six THS teammates finished in the top half of the race, which featured 226 runners.

Dalton Harrington (48th), Jeff Neal (72nd), Caleb Himpel (80th) and Garret French (87th) all finished in the top 90 at the mega-race.

The Tonganoxie girls, who were without Hunter Cook, one of their top runners, finished 19th in the Rim Rock Classic Blue 4K.

Tressa Walker was the Chieftains’ top runner, taking 88th and Emma Stilgenbauer was 94th, just six seconds behind Walker. There were 199 competitors in the Blue 4K.

At 5 p.m. Thursday, THS will compete at Maranatha Academy’s cross country meet.
