McLouth Happenings
The McLouth Friendship Club met April 16, with 16 members present and 16 guests from the McLouth High School National Honor Society. Lillian Shrader and Delores Dohrn were hostesses and tables were decorated in the Easter theme. Clifford Weeks, sponsor, asked the students to introduce themselves, tell who their parents are, and announce their college of choice. He invited the club to the May 19 high school graduation. The next meeting of the Friendship Club will be May 21, with Jean Umholtz as the hostess. The theme will focus on “honoring our mothers” and “remembering our graduations.” Please bring photos of your memories.
Students from the Technology Education Collegiate Association at Fort Hays State University received the 2012 National ITEEA/TECA manufacturing team championship award at the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association Conference and Competitions in Long Beach, Calif. FHSU was among 16 participating colleges and universities from across the United States. The students competed in six of the seven contests and placed in five. Scott Smelser of McLouth, a senior majoring in manufacturing and transportation, was among the participants.
