Jarbalo Jottings

Jarbalo United Methodist Church Women met Wednesday, June 13, at the church. Marilyn Oxley presided.

Seven members answered roll call and reported 47 care calls. Final plays were made for the tea. Two songs to be sung at the tea were practiced. Christine Black read scripture from Ecclesiastes. Tables and chairs were set up for the tea and decorations were put up. Christine served refreshments.

Those there were Marilyn Oxley, Frances Jeannin, Rosie Oelschlaeger, Faye Cleavinger, Pastor Larry Grove and Thamar Barnett.

The JUMW Picket Fence Ladies Tea on June 15 was a real success. There were 38 guests there from several different churches. The white picket fence skit was about Tom Sawyer and his troubles. Marilyn Oxley played the part of Widow Douglas, Rosie Oelschlaeger was Aunt Polly, Christine Black was Becky Thatcher and Thamar Barnett was Tom Sawyer. Rosie wrote the skit.

Tammy Mooberry visited Thamar Barnett Friday evening.

Linda Blanton of Highland was the guest of Rosie Oelschlaeger at the tea. John and Janice Oelschlaeger, Erin and Amy, visited Orville and Rosie Oelschlaeger on Fathers Day.

David and Jane Turner were guests of David Jr. and Tracey Turner on Fathers Day.

Vacation Bible School at Jarbalo United Methodist Church will be from 6-8 p.m. on June 25-28. Enrollment will be from 6-7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 24.
