Green Johnston is a nursing home administrator and holds a master’s degree in speech/language pathology. She has worked and practiced for 20 years in nursing homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and residential settings. She also did in-home therapy through her own private practice, serving hundreds of patients and their families. Now she is excited to be taking on a new and different challenge as director at Vintage Park.

Green Johnston is no stranger to the healthcare industry, but it was a personal visit to an uncle in a nursing home that helped her decide this is where she needed to be. She realized that being with her uncle in the nursing home was a joy to her.

“I loved being in this healthcare setting, and if this is hard for a lot of people, but it’s so easy and joyful for me, why in the world am I not there, creating a difference for people in their lives?” Green Johnston said. “Now, I have the opportunity to tell interested individuals first-hand what assisted living is and how it can help fulfill their lives. I enjoy the residents, families and staff at Vintage Park so much.

“Working with the elderly is a joy. I’m at my happiest and I feel like I can make a positive difference.”

Green Johnston invites the residents of Tonganoxie and surrounding communities to come by and introduce themselves. She said she is happy to be in her new position and looks forward to continuing to be an active part of the community.
