Fire hydrant testing could cause discoloration in water
The Tonganoxie City Fire Department will be testing fire hydrants throughout the city, starting after Memorial Day and continuing throughout the summer.
Fire Chief Dave Bennett said residents might notice a discoloration of their water during testing, but that the water still is safe to consume. If it continues after testing, Bennett said residents should contact City Hall at (913) 845-2620, and firefighters will reflush the system.
