McLouth High to crown King, Queen of Courts
McLouth High School is celebrating King and Queen of Courts with themed days throughout the week and a canned food drive.
Monday was ESPN Day when students will wear their favorite sports shirts, while Tuesday was Big Bang Theory Day when students will dress as nerds. Today is Duck Dynasty/Honey BooBoo Day and Thursday is Disney Channel Day when students are to dress as their favorite Disney characters. Finally, Friday is Purple and Gold Spirit Day.
There will be a pep rally and candidate games at 2:45 p.m. Friday in the Gold Gymnasium.
Each class also will decorate a shopping cart and fill it with non-perishable canned goods throughout the week. The class with the most items will receive $1 off admission to the dance Friday night for each of its class members. The same discount will be given to the class with the best-decorated shopping cart. The winners will be announced between the girls and boys games Saturday against Jackson Heights. All food will be donated to McLouth churches for their food pantries.
Royalty will be crowned at halftime of the boys game.
This year’s king candidates are Dakota Cop, son of Greg and Ann Cop; TJ Crowell, son of Dale and Corene Williams and Steve Crowell; Carter Gish, son of Steve and Paula Gish; and Marc Walbridge, son of Doug and Sandy Walbridge.
Queen candidates are Alex Adams, daughter of Mick and Bonnie Adams and Floyd and Dixie Ghale; Olivia Evans, daughter of Dan and Kristi Evans; Kaitlyn Hullinger, daughter of Brenda Hullinger and Jerry Hullinger; and Marissa Raya, daughter of Joe and Janice Raya.
