Lauren Zule, daughter of Dave and Julie Zule, was among the sutdents to be inducted into the National Honor Society at Pleasant Ridge High School. Lauren is a junior and has only received straight A’s all of her school years.
Jeannette and Emily Cole and Evelyn Schwinn enjoyed lunch Feb. 10 at the Pullman Place restaurant. They later joined Peggy Gillaspie for atrip to Smith Lake at the Lewis and Clark National Park to see the Snow Geese. There were hundreds of them and a beautiful site to see.
The Schwinn borthers, Dan, John and Bill and Charles Monahan attended a bankers meeting and dinner Feb. 11 at the Heritage Center in Atchison. They heard a great speaker and also a comedian.
We see the farmers of the area out putting fertilizer on their hay fields and pastures. Spring must be around the corner.
Kirk Knapp visited with his folks, Anabel and Wayne Knipp, and had dinner on Feb. 9. Kirk and Wayne did some woodwork during Kirk’s visit.
Brian Schwinn was visiting his mother Evelyn Schwinn on Valentine’s Day.

Christopher, son of Brian and Linda Schwinn, celebrated his 25th birthday on Feb. 16.
Randy and Amy Schwinn took Danny and Linda R. Schwinn on Feb. 16 to the Cedar Ridge restaurant in Atchison for a birthday dinner.
On Feb. 17, Peggy and Evelyn Schwinn went to the Trinity Lutheran Church to the “Tune My Heart to Sing Your Praise,” presented by the Mid-America Nazarene University choirs.
Dan, John and Bill Schwinn attended the Leavenworth Cooperative Seed and Chemical meeting and fish fry on Feb. 15.
John and Cora Moses’ granddaughter Gelia and James Godin live in an apartment two blocks from where the fire occurred on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Mo. They were able to go back to their apartment early Feb. 19.
