De Soto 43, Silver Lake 33

Megan Bonar and Paige Williams combined for 32 points as De Soto punched its ticket to the tournament championship game with a win against Silver Lake.

The Wildcats (7-4) led by just two points at halftime, but used a 12-6 third quarter to take control of the game.

Bonar led all scorers with 18 points and Williams added 14. Logan Bledsoe had nine points to pace Silver Lake (8-2), which won last year’s tournament.

De Soto will play Chanute in the tournament final, while the Eagles will face host school Tonganoxie in the third-place game.

BOYS SCORE

Lansing 51, Holton 40

A dominant third quarter proved to be the difference in Lansing’s semifinal victory against Holton.

The Lions (10-1) clung to a one-point lead at halftime, but outscored the Wildcats (7-4) by a 15-6 margin in the third. Holton kept things close in the final minutes, but Lansing secured the win at the free throw line.

Joe Schneider and Roy Clayter led Lansing with 18 and 12 points, respectively. Tyler Burdiek had 15 for Holton.

LHS will take on Blue Valley Southwest in a championship game featuring the tournament’s only two Class 5A teams. Meanwhile, Holton will play Tonganoxie in the third-place game.
