Wild horses and burros will be up for adoption Friday and Saturday in Tonganoxie.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management will have the two-day event noon-6 p.m. Friday and 8-10 a.m. Saturday at the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds.

Adult and yearling wild horses and burros that once roamed free on public lands in the west will be up for adoptions.

All animals will be offered on a first-come first-served basis for a minimum fee of $125, which is set by law.
