Leavenworth Co. Humane Society offering next transport in Basehor

Leavenworth County Humane Society’s next pet spay/neuter transport will be Feb. 13 and 14 in Basehor.

Wagg’n Tails Day Spa, 15630 Pinehurst Drive will be the drop-off and pickup point for animals. Pets can be dropped off from 7-8:30 a.m. Feb. 13 and picked up from 10-11 a.m. Feb. 14.

The program is available through a partnership with Great Plains SPCA Animal Medical Center. The service is open to all Leavenworth County residents, including Fort Leavenworth.

Cats must weigh 3 pounds and dogs must be at least 16 weeks of age for full services.

Pet cat package includes surgery, core vaccinations, microchip and parasite treatment as needed, all for $75.

Package price for dogs is $110 and includes surgery, core vaccinations, microchip and parasite treatment as needed. Feral (barn) cats are welcome; feral package is $25 and includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations, parasite treatment and ear-tip to identify the cat as sterilized. Traps are available for loan.
