THS made six free throws and led BWHS, 6-5, heading into the second quarter.

The Chieftains held a slim lead heading into the second half, but a 10-3 run in the third quarter and key buckets down the stretch helped Bishop Ward escape Tonganoxie with a 39-35 victory.

Bishop Ward was whistled three times for technical fouls and THS had chances down the stretch, but THS couldn’t hold on to the lead in the second half.

THS fell to 3-10 on the season. The team will be off for a week before traveling next Friday to Kansas City, Kan., to take on Piper.
