Tonganoxie High soccer ready for Senior Night salute
Tonganoxie soccer had its Senior Night festivities Tuesday with its regular-season finale Tuesday at the Chieftain Park Sports Complex.
THS was 5-9-1 on the season entering the finale against Basehor-Linwood. The game took place after The Mirror’s deadline, but more on the game can be found online at tonganoxiemirror.com, The Mirror’s Twitter account and its Facebook page.
THS looks to continue its momentum with last week’s 8-1 victory against Ottawa.
Tonganoxie will find out where it is playing for regionals with seeding meetings Saturday at Olathe East High School.
Tonganoxie will be competing in Class 4-3-2-1A action. State will be May 27-28 at Topeka’s Hummer Sports Complex. Junction City High School will be the 6A site and Andover High School the 5A site.
McLouth finishing seasons
The McLouth High softball team is 15-4 on the year as its 2A regional approaches. The MHS baseball team also is gearing up for regionals. MHS is 7-11 on the season.
MHS baseball is at the Alma-Wabaunsee regional with Allen-Northern Heights, Burlingame, Lyndon, Valley Falls and Wabaunsee.
The MHS softball team will compete in a 2A regional against Burlingame, Lyndon, Troy, Valley Falls and Wabaunsee. That regional will be played at Valley Falls.
MHS athlete signs
McLouth High school cross country standout Tristan Funk will compete on the collegiate level.
Funk, an MHS senior, will compete for Fort Hays State University.
Funk recently signed with the Tigers, an NCAA Division II program.
