Locals participate in Wreaths Across America at Fort Leavenworth

Jake and his father, Jaime, participate in the event each year. Several were on hand to celebrate and honor deceased soldiers at the annual event.

Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Erika Rhine-Russell was on hand for the annual Fort Leavenworth that is part of a national tradition to place wreaths at the graves of fallen soldiers.
The Holton VFW Post 1367 Honor Guard shot volleys and then “Taps” was played during the Wreaths Across America ceremony. The Leavenworth High School Jr. ROTC group participated as well. Chiefs cheerleaders also were on hand alongside many community members to help place wreaths as part of the ceremony.
