The Council on Aging is taking appointments now for scheduled tax assistance dates at the library. In February, qualified representatives will be at the library on Tuesday and again on Feb. 23.

There will also be additional dates in March. Those who are interested in scheduling an appointment need to call the Council on Aging at 913-684-0777 and ask for Dawn or Lori.

Some restrictions do apply.

Dogs and frogs youth movie day set for Monday

On Mon., Feb. 6th at 3:15 p.m., the library is hosting a special Chieftain Cafe and movie day for children next week.

Youths can watch the Disney classic “The Princess and the Frog” at 3:15 p.m. Monday while snacking on hot dogs. The library is also sending home a frog shooter craft with all attendees.

Bingo and bunco

The library hosts four game days (Bingo and Bunco) every Monday each month.

The first two Mondays are for all ages, 12 and older. The third and fourth Mondays are just for seniors, 55 years and older.

All games start at 1 p.m. and are free to attend. Small, useful or fun prizes are awarded to winners. Check the library’s website for which Mondays are Bunco or Bingo days.
