Road, sidewalk construction projects in full swing for summer season
Road construction near Kansas Highway 16 and Parallel Road between Tonganoxie and McLouth is a major summer project with detours in that area re-routing motorists.
There also are other are some projects of the pedestrian persuasion in Tonganoxie.
A new sidewalk that helps connect the Northstar subdivision recently was installed along 218th Street. The sidewalk connects Myers Drive to Northstar Court on the east side of the subdivision.
Some work also is being done near the main entrance at Tonganoxie High School.
Considerable sidewalk work at U.S. Highway 24-40 and K-16 is being done. Traffic also has been reduced to one lane each way near the intersection.
