Crafting and needlework meetup to be offered twice each month

Want to meet up with others in the community who enjoy knitting, crochet, needlework or other crafting?

At 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday each month, the library has a new social group called Yarn & Thread. It’s for all ages and offers the chance to craft, share, and chat. The first meeting is today and then again on March 22.

Science activities for youths

The library is offering a couple of science-based activities for kids of all ages.

First, Scientots is a fun time set aside for just toddlers to explore and discover. They can participate at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and then again at 10:30 a.m. March 28 to see what science is all about.

Older youths can join us in the Science Cafe at 3:30 p.m. March 21 and 28 to enjoy snacks from our Chieftain Cafe while getting to do different STEM-based activities. Food to fuel the brain and neat activities to expand it! Children younger than 5 years old need to have an adult for assistance.

Storm chaser to visit the library

We can’t wait to have a professional storm chaser visit the library on March 20 to share his experience in the storm-chasing field.

Steve Polley is a storm chaser with more than 18 years experience who has an interest in all facets of severe weather. His photographs and videos have been featured on local and national media. This is a chance to jump into the eye of the storm and learn what weather spotting and storm chasing is really all about.

Program is free to attend and begins at 6:30 p.m.
