Trash pickup schedules to be altered near Christmas, New Year’s in Tonganoxie
Tonganoxie has eclipsed a population of 5,500, according to estimates recently released. The next official county will come with the 2020 U.S. Census.
As the holidays continue to approach, city officials remind residents that there will be some changes with trash pickup schedules.
Christmas and New Year’s Day fall on Mondays this year.
Collection will be one day later for the remainder of the week during those two weeks, so customers with Tuesday trash pickup will have trash pickup on Wednesdays, Wednesday customers on Thursdays, Thursday customers on Fridays and Friday customers on Saturdays.
Residents can place up to 10 extra bags out after the Christmas holiday. Christmas trees will be picked up for the two weeks after Dec. 25.
