A new mural greets visitors who enter the Tonganoxie Recreation Commission Activity Center gymnasium through its main downstairs entrance. TRC expanded its hours of operations a couple weeks ago and staff look to continue to add more offerings.Tonganoxie Recreation Commission will have a Tongie Split Ice Cream Social later this month.
TRC’s traditional ice cream social will celebrate the famed Tongie Split phenomenon with bananas and other split toppings to add to the complimentary ice cream. The ice cream social will be 7-8:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at Chieftain Park on North Main St.
