Letters to Santa opportunity
This year youths can write a letter to Santa and bring it to the library for a special delivery because the library has a direct line to the North Pole and Santa’s mailroom.
Any time between now and Dec. 13, pick up a special paper for your child’s letter at the front desk or you can email Katie at katieh@tonganoxielibrary.org to receive it via email.
Then just bring it back when finished and drop it in our special Santa mailbox by Fri., Dec. 13th. Santa will mail back a special letter for each child, just in time for Christmas.
Just a few angels left on the Angel tree
The library’s annual Angel Tree kicked off on Nov. 22 with 111 angels, but there are still quite a few remaining.
This year is the highest number of angels the library has had! Each angel represents a senior in our community with a gift wish. Come pick an angel off the tree and come to the front desk to select a gift recipient. Your generous gift helps make their holiday just a little brighter. Every year library staff hears how appreciative recipients are for the gift and to be remembered.
Stop by and grab an angel before they all fly away!
Holiday food program with samples
Holiday treats don’t always have to be sweet! This Knowledge at Noon program at noon Dec. 10 will cover both sweet and savory treats you can bring to your next gathering or party.
Recipes and a live food demo with samples from a Master Food Volunteer with K-State Research and Extension. No registration is required to attend!
Holiday Bingo is happening soon
It’s holiday bingo time at the library again on Sat., Dec. 14th from 12:00-2:00 PM. Ten rounds of themed play plus tons of holiday and winter themed prizes. We’ll have a lot of winners! Participants will also be treated to tasty snacks and drinks. Holiday bingo is for adults and those 12 years and older, and it’s free to attend. It does require registration, which you can do by calling the library at 913-845-3281 to reserve your spot.
