Tonganoxie’s winter weather updated to start at noon Monday

Tonganoxie could see up to 5 inches of snow accumulations in the coming days.

Leavenworth County is among Kansas and Missouri counties in a winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service.

The advisory is in effect from noon Monday to 6 p.m. Tuesday. The advisory originally was to start at 3 p.m., but NWS officials moved the start to noon Monday morning.

Accumulations of 2-5 inches of snow are expected in portions of east central and northeast Kansas, along with central, north central and west central Missouri. Wind gusts as high as 45 mph also are possible.

McLouth and Larwence, meanwhile, are in a winter weather advisory from 6 a.m. Monday through noon Tuesday. That advisory comes with snow accumulations of possibly 1-4 inches and wind gusts around 45 mph. The advisory is for portions of east central and northeast Kansas, including Douglas and Jefferson counties.
